Chromate conversion (also called chemical film, Iridite or Alodine) is a coating applied to aluminum to increase the corrosion resistance and surface adhesion properties of the base metal.
Hillock only uses products that are in accordance with MIL-DTL-81706. In addition, Trivalent Chromate can be specified for parts that require RoHS compliance or the need for a hex-chrome free product.
Hillock’s process was engineered to eliminate the need for high temperature drying which is catastrophic to the corrosion properties. In addition, the process is compatible with parts with small blind holes that frequently experience defects from poor rinsing.
Control of solution makeup water quality, rinse water quality, and solution contamination allow for adherence to numerous MIL-SPEC and Prime Contractor specifications.
